Proposals and insights

Seeking, occasionally discovering an animal in its natural habitat all busy or surprised to doze blissfully, observing a flower, a leaf, a plant, a root are some of the situations most loved by children.

How can we protect nature, relaunch an interest, create tools to deepen?

 

During the lockdown period I prepared some material to share with the children, pdf and video tutorials that you can see and download in the posts. The videos are cut and modified to adapt them to this new context, you will forgive simplicity and imperfections.

 

When and how to propose materials and projects?

To support children's interests, it is essential to give them the opportunity to live experiences in a stimulating and ever-changing space. Nature, outdoor spaces are extraordinarily and naturally suitable for any curious exploration and experience.

 

It will be the children who, if left free to move and explore, will create effective learning situations in a continuous evolution and modification.

 

The when they will be the ones to communicate it to us and we should be ready to take the input very discreetly.

 

The thing is suggested in the posts, while for how our sensitivity will make a difference and the more we let them do, the more interesting the experience will be.

 

Another fundamental aspect is to remember that the product is not important, but the process that takes place during the experience is. If we let ourselves be guided by children's creativity and intuition we will go higher or deeper.

 

Before each relaunch / proposal let us ask ourselves what children can do independently, such as searching and organizing materials, thinking and implementing a project.

 

We provide them with suitable tools that give them the opportunity to build the experience with a calculated risk.

 

And then let them do it, we intervene as little as possible. They will amaze us and together we will build deep relationships and new knowledge.
